The Bucket List

Do you have a bucket list?

bucket-list

I feel like everyone and their mom has been posting their summer bucket lists on the blogosphere. I don’t really have one. But I do have a life long bucket list which I thought I would share. Especially since I’ve just checked a few things off recently and will (hopefully) be checking a few more off this fall.

[  ] Travel to all 7 continents
[x] North America
[  ] South America (technically I went to Venezuela when I was 2 but I’m not counting it)
[x] Europe
[  ] Africa
[  ] Asia
[  ] Australia
[  ] Antarctica

[  ] Visit all 50 states in the U.S.
7 Remaining: Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana

[x] Travel solo (just checked this off on my visit to Spain)

[  ] Visit the Marble Cathedral in Chile

[  ] Visit Salvation Mountain in California (look at these beautiful photos over at The Dainty Squid)

[  ] Visit Silin (the Stone forest) in China

[  ] Hike the Iceland interior

[  ] Hike in Snowdonia National Park in Wales (I visited Wales in 2008 and fell in love with this area, I would love to go back)

[  ] See the Taj Mahal

[  ] See the Great Pyramids

[  ] Go white water rafting

[  ] Visit all 30 NHL venues (I’ve been to 4)

[  ] Run a 1:45 half marathon (Hopefully this will be my Montreal half this year)

[  ] Run a full marathon (I will be running the NYC Marathon this November, you can see my progress here)

[  ] Run a sub 4:00 marathon

[  ] Run a triathlon

[  ] Go skydiving

[  ] Write a book

[  ] Fall in love (again)

[  ] Get my PhD

[  ] Get certified as a yoga instructor

[  ] Become fluent in Spanish

What’s on your bucket list?

Weekend Photo Round Up

Saturday

I started the day off right with a nice spin class. Emily at the Upper West Side Cycling is an amazing instructor.

Swan Lake by the American Ballet Company was amazing, not to mention the Met Opera House is very beautiful.

As for dinner at Dirt Candy, we managed to get seated at the bar and the food/experience was amazing. We had the Korean fried broccoli side, curry fries, jalapeño hush puppies, the mushroom plate, radish spaghetti, broccoli dogs, and two desserts the onion chocolate tart and corn cake. It was all delicious but my my favorites were by far the mushroom plate and Korean fried broccoli. Everything was served tapas style and plated beautifully. I’m not one for taking photos of food so I only have one of the radish spaghetti.

Sunday

At 8am my running group broke into teams and did a scavenger hunt of Central Park. It was a bit drizzly but the cool temps were more than welcome after the heat of last week. And the hunt was super fun. Not only did we get 6.3 miles of fun in but we learned a lot of great secret spots in the park.

TGIF

gayy

First off I am so happy that the U.S. has legalized gay marriage (although I’m appalled it was only a 5-4 vote). All I can say is it’s about damn time!

And I am so glad that today is Friday. So glad. This week has just left me a bit burnt out. I’m skipping yoga tonight because I just simply want to lay in bed and read (also I’m a bit sore from yesterday’s training). I deserve it. I do. You do too so take some time off for yourself this weekend. I’m serious!

What are you up to this weekend?

Tomorrow I’m going to a spin class in the morning (another good reason to rest and not do yoga tonight) and then the Swan Lake ballet at the Met Opera house in the afternoon with my friend, Maneeza. Later we’re meeting up with Yalda and hoping to check out this vegan restaurant. Apparently they are booked solid for the next two months but said that they take walk ins to eat at the bar and chef’s table so we’re going to see if we can get in. As for Sunday, I have a training run/scavenger hunt with the Alzheimer’s Association and hopefully some things checked off on my long, long to do list such as working on parts 2 and 3 for this post.
